Boston:
Peters Park
The original plantings at Peter’s Park in 1993 were the product
of the combined effort of EarthWorks and the Friends of Peters Park
Association. They were substantially added to in 1997 by the Friends
of Peters Park. Now, around the rock garden and dog park you can
find two hybrid chestnuts, two pecans, two heartnuts, and two cherries,
as well as grape vines, raspberries, and strawberries.
- Location: North side of Washington St. at Perry St.
- Plants: Two hybrid chestnuts, two Northern pecans, a tree hazel, two grape vines, two heartnuts, two cherries, two raspberries, and strawberries.
- Accessibility: Most plants are behind a wire fence.
Grape Island
Grape Island is part of the Boston Harbor Islands national park
area and is overseen by national park personnel. In 1996 EarthWorks
planted two apple trees and a pear on the island. During the summer
months the national park service offers guided walks and wild edible

- Location: Boston harbor, part of the Boston Harbor Islands national park area.
- Plants: Two apples and a Seckel pear.
- Accessibility: But check with National Park Service before harvesting fruit.
